The City of Prince Albert Council has presented the 2019 Terry Fox Award to Elayna Greenwood. The 13 year old was diagnosed seven years ago with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Two and a half years of chemotherapy ravaged her body, making it impossible to attend regular school. She kept up her studies though with “hospital school” and with tutors. Her treatment ended in February of 2015. The city says since then, she has taken up dance, riding horses, baby-sitting, swimming, running cross-country, and track and field. The city calls her athleticism, involvement, and positive attitude, inspirational.
