Wholesale merchants’ sales in Saskatchewan fell 0.9 per cent in August. Statistics Canada says four provinces had worse performances. The national average was a drop of 1.2 per cent. Year-to-year, sales here declined 2.3 per cent. Two provinces had bigger drops. Nationally the average was a rise of two per cent. Saskatchewan recorded merchant sales at about $2.3 billion in August.
