All of the City’s construction projects for 2019 were done on time and on budget.
Terry Schmidt, the City of Saskatoon’s General Manger of Transportation and Construction says some of the highlights for 2019 included the official opening of the interchanges at Boychuk Drive and Highway 16 and McOrmond Drive and College Drive along with phase 1 of the Sid Buckwold Bridge rehabilitation project.
Schmidt adds the City also replaced 25 kilometres of water mains and sanitary sewers in some of the city’s most established communities.
Throughout the year, 20 kilometres of sidewalks have been improved, bringing the total to 97 kilometres since 2014, that’s approximately the distance from Saskatoon to Biggar.
Projects planned for 2020 include phase 2 of the Sid Buckwold Bridge rehabilitation project and resurfacing the westbound lanes of College Drive from the city limits to the rail overpass.
