There has been construction and restrictions since April, but Senator Sid Buckwold Bridge fully reopens to traffic tomorrow (Fri) morning. However, the City says there may be some brief disruptions and lane closures through the weekend as crews work to clear the site.
The work to rehabilitate the bridge begins again next spring on the northbound lanes. They will close down, including the 1st Avenue ramp, and traffic will be accommodated in the southbound lanes, the opposite of what we experienced this year. The City says the bridge walkway will also close so it can be widened and will include a taller barrier for improved safety for both pedestrians and cyclists.
