A low pressure system in Alberta will pass through central Saskatchewan tonight and then into Manitoba Saturday. A cold front trailing from this low will push through southwestern Saskatchewan tonight bringing very gusty northwest winds.
For most areas gusts of 70 or 80 km/h should be expected tonight. Some localities are likely to receive wind gusts of 90 or 100 km/h this evening as the cold front passes through. Gusty northwest winds will spread throughout southern Saskatchewan by Saturday morning as the cold front sweeps through, although they are not expected to reach warning criteria.
This weather system will bring above normal temperatures today, but much colder temperatures Saturday.
The wind warning currently applies to Kindersley, Rosetown, Biggar, Wilkie, Macklin, Swift Current, Herbert, Cabri, Kyle, Lucky Lake, Leader, Gull Lake, Shaunavon, Maple, Creek, Val Marie, Cypress Hills.
