Unifor members from both Directwest and SecurTek have voted in favour of ratifying a new collective agreement. It is a three year deal. The collective agreement for both entities expired March 19th and this new agreement with a three year term means a 1% increase as of March 20th, 2019, with a 2 per cent increase in the respective two years following.
The employer says Directwest and SecurTek employees received two years of zeros for 2017-18 and 2018-19. Active full-time employees will also receive four days pay in compensation for 17 days on the picket line. For SecurTek their part time employees will also be compensated on a pro-rated basis. SecurTek will now provide a Health Spending Account for each employee while Directwest will make an additional one per cent contribution of each employee s base salary to the Health Spending Account, effective January 1, 2020.
