A Veteran of Afghanistan who is a collector of military artifacts will showcase some of his collection at the Saskatoon Veterans Appreciation Tea on Sunday, a kick start to Veterans’ Week which begins on Monday and runs through Remembrance Day. The tea is hosted by the local Royal Canadian Legion branches and the ANAVETS Club.
Chair of the Saskatoon Poppy Campaign, Diane Robson, says they invite all the veterans they know about and that includes more recent veterans. Robson would like to see more of the younger vets come out. RCMP and Police Service officers are also invited.
The tea is Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Nutana Legion. Robson says the tea and Veterans Week is a way to show appreciation to those who are serving, those who have served and those who died in the service of Canada.
