Saskatoon Police say the driver of a city sanding truck is in custody and at Royal University Hospital for assessment.
A city news release indicated there were no reports of property damage, theft or injuries after the sanding truck was spotted driving erratically early this morning.
However, the Saskatoon Police say they started getting reports around 4:50 a.m. Monday morning of the truck being driven at high speeds and sideswiping a vehicle as it was driven on Circle Drive and into the downtown.
Police say they used information from other motorists to track the truck’s movements until it could be brought to a stop on 7th Avenue. The incident is under investigation by the city as well as the city police department.
Police confirm no one was injured.
