They don’t know what’s causing it but they know they can’t use the water at St. Paul’s Hospital.
Actually, they can use it but only for flushing toilets. And those who wash their hands using the water are advised to follow with an alcohol based hand rub.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority says the water quality issues at St. Paul’s Hospital were noticed yesterday when brown-discoloured water started coming out of the taps.
The Authority says St. Paul’s Hospital staff are working with the City of Saskatoon to determine the cause of the issue and water quality testing is underway.
No tap water or ice formed with tap water is to be consumed or used in medical procedures.
Emergency water supplies have been issued to all units and departments at the hospital and the City of Saskatoon has provided water trucks for the site.
