Research Infosource is spotlighting university publication performance as measured by the number of publications in a variety of major fields. In the category of natural sciences and engineering publications, as a percentage of total publications, the University of Saskatchewan Medical comes out on top. In natural sciences and engineering publications, the Comprehensive category went to the University of Regina. In terms of the top 50 research universities, infosource places USask at number 14; same as last year. The total sponsored research income was $175 million in fiscal 2018. That was a drop of six percent. The University of Regina moves up to a ranking of 36 from 38. Its research income was $18.9 million in fiscal 2018. That was an increase of nearly 23 per cent.
