The Saskatoon Fire Department and the Emergency Management Organization responded to an alert from the Saskatoon Police Service about suspicious substance found in a mail processing facility this morning (Wed) just before 11:30.
The call came from 115 Avenue H South. The Fire Department says 2 employees that had come into contact with the substance were placed in isolation and the facility was evacuated and secured.
Saskatoon Public Schools was notified and a representative arrived on site to ensure operations at a nearby school weren’t affected. Haz-mat crews performed tests on the substance, which was quickly confirmed to be non-hazardous. Traffic was restricted in the area during this incident.
