Vehicle Check Equals Firearm Charges
Saskatoon Police say when they tried to pull over a vehicle yesterday which was being driven by a person in a mask, acting aggressively, it sped off. That was around 8:30 Tuesday night near Avenue I and 22nd Street.
The truck was found abandoned at Avenue J North and 23rd Street West but an officer spotted a suspect nearby but he wouldn’t comply with commands and became aggressive.
A passerby helped the lone officer in apprehending the suspect until back up arrived. Police seized a knife, ammunition, a firearm and a mask.
A 36 year old man is charged with Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and numerous other firearms related offences.
