The Regina media that were allowed into Mosaic Stadium to take in Friday’s Saskatchewan Roughriders’ practice saw more participation from Cody Fajardo than they did on Wednesday.
However, head coach Craig Dickenson threw them a curveball with regards to the quarterback’s playing status for Sunday’s Western final against visiting Winnipeg when he said he didn’t know if Fajardo will start, but he will play. Dickenson added that a mix of all three quarterbacks (Fajardo, Isaac Harker and Bryan Bennett) playing on Sunday is possible. Fajardo did throw some passes in the 20-to-30 yard range later in Friday’s workout.
Meanwhile, top receiver Shaq Evans was on the field Friday, but not participating. Veteran Kenny Stafford worked with the first team, but Dickenson said Jordan Williams-Lambert could play in case Evans couldn’t.
Game time Sunday is 3:30 on T-S-N. Less than a thousand tickets remain to be sold.
