There isn’t much information the Saskatoon Police Service can release, other than the infant found November 8th in a recycling bin behind an apartment in the 400 block of 5th Avenue North was a recently-born baby girl. The autopsy wasn’t able to conclusively determine the date of birth. Further testing is required, which may take several months.
As part of the continuing investigation, police are asking for anyone who might have surveillance video in the area between 25th Street and Queen Street, and 3rd and 6th Avenues between November 4th to 8th.
The stock picture of the distinct bag below is like the one the baby was found in. Investigators are hoping someone may recognize it. The Police Service continues to appeal to the public about the urgent need to locate the mother. Anyone with information is asked to call the police or Crime Stoppers.
