Freezing rain blanketed a large swatch of central Saskatchewan last night stretching from Lloydminster through to Saskatoon and northward. Freezing rain warnings have been lifted for those areas but persist for northern areas.
A freezing rain warning is in effect for La Ronge, Prince Albert National Park, Narrow Hills Provincial Park, Pelican Narrows, Cumberland House, and Creighton.
A glaze of ice has cloaked parking lots, roads, sidewalks and caution is advised when heading out this morning. In Saskatoon the ice has been followed by light snow. The freezing rain is expected to continue to track to the southeast.
Some highways where freezing rain is occurring have Travel Not Recommended and caution is advised on most others. To see the roads where you’re going check the Highway Hotline right here at cjwwradio.com under the news tab.
