The people in Justin Trudeau’s new cabinet aren’t what matters, its the decisions they make. That is what Premier Scott Moe is saying as he looks at what the new cabinet unveiled yesterday (Wed) looks like. One thing Moe likes is the fact former Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland is the new Deputy Prime Minister. He says he has worked with her in the past and he felt they had a fairly strong working relationship. Because of what happened on election night, there is no Saskatchewan representation on cabinet, but Moe says even with Ralph Goodale serving as a cabinet minister, his government still disagreed with many Liberal policies over the last four years.
The new federal cabinet isn’t getting a thumbs up or thumbs down from the leader of the provincial opposition. Ryan Meili says he will look in particular at how new Environment Minister Jonathan Wilkinson will do. He is from Saskatoon and served as an adviser to Roy Romanow when he was Premier and he also served as leader of the youth wing of the Saskatchewan New Democrats.
