The Mennonite Central Committee Canada has been recognized for charitable excellence.
The organization based in Winnipeg has been named among the top ten international impact charities for 2019 by Charity Intelligence.
M-C-C’s Associate Director for Donor Relations they are thrilled and honoured by the accolade.
Laura Kalmar feels their approach as a partner to the 450 groups from 53 countries they work with is a reason for their success.
Kalmar says designing aid projects based on the needs of their partners ensures their long term impact.
She notes their focus on relief, development and peace is the foundation of their work.
Kalmar credits their priorities like reconciliation between local groups, trauma healing following conflict or disasters and building resilience as the hallmarks of what they do.
M-C-C Canada is heading into its 100th year of charitable endeavours.
