The impact of the CN Rail strike is beginning to show in Saskatchewan. Nutrien is preparing to shut down their Rocanville Potash Mine, its largest potash mine, due to the strike.
Workers were informed today (Mon) that the mine will be closed for two weeks beginning December 2nd. In a statement from Nutrien President Chuck Magro, he says it’s extremely disappointing the strike will create more hardships for the agriculture industry during a year of poor weather and trade disputes. Hundreds of employees are affected by the move heading into the holiday season. (CKRM)
