When it comes to ranking Canadian cities on competitive advantages, and appeal to tech workers and employers, Saskatoon is one position away from the bottom of the heap. Commercial real estate services and investment firm CBRE looked at 20 cities in the study. Toronto is at the top with a ranking of 88.1. Regina comes in at 15th place with a ranking of 35.7. Saskatoon shows up at number 19 with a ranking of 16.1. At the very bottom: Moncton New Brunswick. Looking into the details, Saskatoon’s best showing is 12th place for technical employment growth and educational achievement. By contrast, Regina’s best showing is 2nd place for technical employment growth. Saskatoon’s worst showing is being at the very bottom when it comes to technical concentration or, tech talent as a percentage of total employment. Regina holds seventh spot there.
