The New Democratic Party says the Sask. Party has blocked attempts to get answers on a $16 million combined loss from two investment funds. During the Standing Committee on Crown and Central Agencies, Cathy Sproule wanted to question Grant Kook about losses racked up by the First Nations and Metis Fund and the Saskatchewan Immigrant Investor Fund; both bankrolled with taxpayers’ money. The NDP say government members of the committee blocked her. Sproule says, “The losses piled up under the management of a well-connected Sask. Party insider raises very serious questions the CEO should be made available to answer.” Sproule accuses the government of blocking transparency and accountability.
