Graduating Regina Thunder offensive lineman Logan Ferland is among five players signed today by the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Ferland spent last season on the Riders practice roster while playing his final season for the Thunder where he was named the PFC’s top offensive lineman and was a CJFL All-Canadian for a second straight season.
Also signed from the practice roster were American running back Jamal Morrow and global receiver Max Zimmerman.
The Green and White also got two 2019 draft choices under contract.
Canadian Linebacker Jacob Janke was taken in the fourth round and just finished his fourth season at York University.
Offensive lineman Vincent Roy was a sixth round selection and played this past season at the University of Sherbrooke.
Graduating Hilltops defensive back Colton Holmes started the season on the Riders practice roster before returning to the Hilltops where he was named an All-Canadian for a second season in a row and won a fifth straight Canadian Bowl making a big play with :33 remaining to secure the 11-6 win in Langley.
Hilltops offensive lineman Mason Ochs also attended Riders training camp. He is eligable to return to the Hilltops in 2020.
