The City of Prince Albert has won the Commonwealth President’s Award.
The award given to major contributors to drowning prevention is for the city’s affiliation of over 50 years with the Royal Lifesaving Society.
Chief Executive Director of the Lifesaving Society’s Saskatchewan Branch Shelby Rushton says Prince Albert is one of the most active affiliates in the province.
She says they are very supportive in the areas of promoting drowning prevention initiatives and public education.
Prince Albert Director of Community Services Jody Boulet is proud of their aquatics staff and says they are encouraged to get additional training through the Lifesaving Society.
