Even tough the CN Rail strike has come and gone, the impacts are still being felt from the eight day work-stoppage.
Nutrien announced last week that operations at the Rocanville potash mine were going to cease for two weeks due to the then on-going rail strike.
The decision to stop production at the mine for two weeks beginning today (mon) is still going ahead even tough the strike has come to an end.
That means 550 workers will be laid-off for two weeks.
In September, Nutrien announced it was closing its Allan, Lanigan and Vanscoy potash mines for eight weeks during the last quarter of 2019.The workers at those mines are expected to be back on the job by the end of the month.
