The final question period of the fall sitting of the Saskatchewan Legislature could be a preview of next year’s provincial election campaign.
Opposition Leader Ryan Meili and NDP members peppered the SaskParty with questions and criticism of their handling of the Wascana Park and Regina By-Pass projects in addition to health and education.
Premier Scott Moe often answered by claiming his government has added more doctors’, nurses and hospitals than when the NDP was in power.
The premier also said there would be no Regina By-Pass if the opposition still governed.
Moe’s final answer to a question about alleged environmental irregularities surrounding the by-pass evolved into a campaign style speech.
He said voters will choose between the SaskParty’s delivery of a balanced budget and the New Democrats who would run deficits.
Moe also said it would be a choice between their carbon plan and the NDP who would accept the carbon tax.
The premier closed the raucous session by predicting voters will re-elect the SaskParty.
