Saskatoon and area children will have the opportunity Sunday afternoon to experience a range of Christmas activities.
From 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Saskatoon YMCA, the 2nd Annual Winter Wonderland will take place with Santa Claus and Bruiser, the mascot of the Saskatchewan Rush in attendance. Festivities will include photos with Santa and an indoor snowball fight.
Serena Dallas with the YMCA of Saskatoon says the annual event is the first Strong Kids activity of the 2019-20 school year.
Strong Kids is an annual fundraising campaign that raises funds to support YMCA programs that provide children with opportunities to live healthier lives and happier lives.
Entry to the Winter Wonderland event is by donation. K + S Potash through their Youth +Us Initiative donated $50 thousand dollars to the kick-start this year’s Strong Kids Campaign.
The goal this year is to raise $185 thousand dollars.
