Prince Albert and area has been added to Environment Canada’s extreme cold warning. Anytime the temperature including the windchill goes past -40 degrees, a weather alert is sent out. Also included in the alert is east of Prince Albert to the Manitoba border including Melfort, Tisdale and Nipawin and Hudson Bay and Porcupine Plain, then further south through to the U.S. border including Humboldt and Wynyard, Kamsack and Canora areas, and further south through Yorkton, Melville, Moosomin and Carlyle and Oxbow. The northern third of the province is also under the extreme cold warning. Saskatoon isn’t, but with a WC of -36 overnight (tues/wed), it comes close to that -40 borderline.
