Regina-Qu’Appelle M.P. and Conservative Party Leader, Andrew Scheer has announced he will step down as Leader once a new representative has been elected. He says it’s one of the most difficult decisions he has ever made, but his family comes first and the time commitments were onerous during the election.
Scheer is proud of what he accomplished during his time as Leader, knocking the Liberals down to a minority government and increasing the number of Conservative seats in the House of Commons.
Sheer adds the party is far too important than one individual and the Conservative is always stronger when they are united.
He says, “When fiscal Conservatives , red Tories, social Conservatives, Libertarians, Quebec Nationalists and Conservatives in rural Canada and urban Canada and east and west come together, great things happen”.
