It’s a departure from how the Scott Flory-led U of S football program has dealt with players from the storied Saskatoon Hilltops.
The Huskies announced Wednesday that they have recruited wide receiver Connor Graham. The rub is that Graham has only two years of U Sports eligibility after playing five years with the Toppers…winning Canadian championships each season. Since Flory took over the U of S program in 2017, the Dogs have stayed away from taking Hilltop players unless they have played less than three years of junior, giving them the full five years of U Sports eligibility.
Graham was the Toppers leading receiver in 2019 and becomes the third generation of Grahams to join the U of S football program. The others are great-grandfather Peter in 1930 and grandfather Ron in 1959. Connor caught 28 passes for 599 yards and 6 touchdowns during the 2019 regular season and made three T-D catches during the C-J-F-L semi-final in London.
