Over 36 years, CJWW’s Denny Carr Secret Santa has helped 50-thousand families in need and 100-thousand children. It’s less than a week to distribution day for this year’s 800 families, so opportunities to donate are ramping up.
First, the Carolling Firefighters are traveling the city Friday to encourage donations from offices, restaurants, businesses and parties. These firefighters begin in the morning and continue through the evening. Secret Santa
Foundation executive director, Nicole Semko, says the firefighters have been helping out since the inception of the fundraising efforts. Friday night, if you are heading to the Blades game, CJWW representatives will be on hand to accept your cash or toy donations and Saturday night is Secret Santa night at the Rush home opener. If you are thinking of donating a toy, the age group most in need is 8 and over.
Monday is the final day for the drop-off bins throughout the city and then the families will receive their hampers and toys on the 18th.
