Saskatoon Police say the police presence in the 300 block of Avenue H South yesterday was investigators executing a search warrant in connection to the city’s 16th homicide of 2019.
They got the search warrant after arresting a 17 year old boy and charging him with First Degree Murder in connection to the death of a 35 year old man who was shot. The victim was found in the 200 block of Avenue X last Saturday morning.
Traffic restrictions went into place around 5:30 p.m. yesterday evening in the area around the 300 block of Avenue H South and the public was advised to avoid the area. Traffic restrictions were lifted about six hours later.
The 17 year old suspect is also charged with Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited to Do So. There is no word on what evidence may have turned up in yesterdays search on Avenue H South.
