Christmas Hamper Day is today (fri) at the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre. Food Bank officials say they see people from every walk of life and this year they are anticipating over 3-thousand people to pick up a Christmas Hamper.
This is the 16th year that Les and Irene Dube have donated an entire semi load of fresh apples and oranges for Christmas Hamper Day. A private donor also donated hams for the hampers.
The hampers contain a choice of chicken or ham, fresh break, potatoes, a litre of milk, soup, vegetables and fresh apples and oranges. Executive Director Laurie O’Connor says the organization response to approximately 20-thousand requests for food baskets each month.
