Tristen Robins has cornered the “Teddy Bear Toss” goal-scoring reins with the Saskatoon Blades!
For the second straight year, the Brandon product opened the scoring to touch off a cascade of stuffed animals sailing onto the ice at SaskTel Centre. For the second straight year, Robins’ tally sent the Bridge City Bunch on to a victory over the East Division-leading Prince Albert Raiders…Sunday’s final score being 4-1.
Robins scored at 10:44 of the first period, just after a P-A penalty expired, allowing the majority of 5,344 fans to propel their stuffed animal donations towards the ice. For the Blue and Gold it was a huge game-opening goal…the first one they’d scored in six games. Chase Wouters, Zach Huber and Eric Florchuk also tallied as the Blades ended a four-game winless streak in their final game before the Christmas break. Ozzy Wiesblatt was the only Raider to break through Nolan Maier as Saskatoon out-shot Prince Albert 28-25 in winning for the third time in four head-to-head meetings. The same teams will collide after the Christmas break in a home-and-home series…December 27 at the Art Hauser Centre December 28 back in Saskatoon.
