It’s estimated online reporting of certain crimes to the Saskatoon Police Service has saved about 6-thousand hours of officers’ time.
Over 82-hundred reports have been taken online, saving over $330-thousand. Using an average of 45 minutes per call, that equates to savings of over 62-hundred hours compared to a traditional dispatched call.
Residents can file reports online through the Saskatoon Police website or through the SPS mobile app. There are also computer terminals at police headquarters, which can be used for minor reports rather than waiting in line at the Service Centre.
