Eight provinces saw a drop in retail sales in October. Saskatchewan’s sales fell 1.7 per cent. Four provinces saw greater declines. Nationally, the average was a drop of 1.2 per cent. Compared to October of last year, Saskatchewan sales were off 0.2 per cent. Six provinces in all saw yearly declines. Four of them were bigger drops than ours. The national average was a drop of 0.6 per cent. Statistics Canada says, in October, Saskatchewan sales totaled $1.6 billion.
