It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital.
This week, a holiday market is taking place at the new hospital for the kids. Over the days leading up to the market, kids were awarded ‘Sunshine Bucks’ for completing treatments and having a positive attitude.
Now throughout Monday and Tuesday, kids will be able to redeem their ‘Sunshine Bucks’ for a toy or a gift for their parents. The hospital’s Allie Mcilmoyl says the gifts were purchased through the generosity of their donors.
Last week, Mcilmoyl says the kids received a visit from Santa Claus who arrived by helicopter prior to visiting the kids and handing out presents. She says the kids were extremely excited when Santa came to the hospital for a visit.
Mcilmoyl adds the 6th annual Making Spirits Bright Holiday Giving Campaign is also underway.
100 per cent of the funds raised supports Saskatchewan kids and families who are in hospital. Conexus Credit Union will also match your donation up to $50 thousand dollars.
Mcilmoyl adds if you’re still looking for the perfect last minute gift or stocking stuffer, tickets are still on sale for the Touchdown for Kids Millionaire Lottery. Tickets are on-sale until January 22nd and draw is taking place on January 30th. The grand prize is $1 million dollars.
