Saskatoon Police officers noticed a suspicious vehicle in the 1400 block of Idylwyld Drive around 12:30 this morning (Tues). A traffic stop was attempted at 38th Street and 1st Avenue, but police say the driver began evading officers at slow speeds.
A tire deflation device was set up, but it’s reported the driver instead went through a parking lot at 33rd Street and Idylwyld Drive, and hit a cement pillar. With significant front end damage, the minivan continued to the 100 block of Circle Drive, where the vehicle was abandoned in a hotel parking lot.
A man and woman fled on foot, but were quickly apprehended. Police allege the 46 year old man was in possession of meth. His charges include evading police, dangerous driving and possession of meth. The woman was released without charges.
