SGI is reminding people to slow down and be patient during this time of year, and to allow some extra time to get to where you need to go.
SGI spokesperson Tyler McMurchy notes that Saskatchewan is just over a month away from fines increasing significantly for distracted driving.
“That’s going to happen on February 1st. And that’s right around the time you’ll be dealing with all those Christmas credit card bills so you don’t want to get a very expensive ticket at that time.”
You can expect to see an increase in police presence over the weekend and next few days, as McMurchy says they will be ensuring no one is driving impaired during the holidays. (CKRM)
