If you received a gift card for Christmas, keep in mind, there are no additional fees when you go to use that gift card.
And gift cards purchased and sold in Saskatchewan don’t have expiration dates. The only time an expiry date is allowed is if you received the card in exchange for making a donation to a charity or if you didn’t provide payment to get the card like a promotional gift card distributed by your favourite neighbourhood restaurant.
You might want to use that gift card – don’t let it sit in the cupboard because if a store goes out of business, it is unlikely you’ll get anything for it.
