A single vehicle accident shortly after 4 in the morning on Boxing Day has led to a sudden death investigation. Warman RCMP received multiple reports of a male walking in the middle of Highway 11 between Warman and Corman Park Industrial Road. Officers found a 19 year old, who appeared to be suffering from hypothermia. He was transported to hospital in Saskatoon and as the investigation continued, police found a vehicle in the west ditch of the southbound lane of Highway 11.
It turns out the vehicle belonged to the 19 year old who had been walking on the road. A search of the area continued and around 6:30 that morning a second 19 year old man was found, also suffering from hypothermia. He was transported to hospital but he died early that afternoon. An autopsy will be conducted.
Officers were unsure how many people may have been in the vehicle, so a thorough search of the area was conducted with help from RCMP Police Dog Services, the Saskatoon Fire Department and the Saskatoon Police Service Air Support Unit. No one else was found. The investigation into the crash continues.
