Maidstone RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Highway 16 near Maidstone on Sunday which resulted in a significant seizure of drugs.

Police retrieved what is believed to be 259 grams of crack cocaine and 223 grams of cocaine – in vacuum-sealed bags.

RCMP say altogether it was almost half a kilogram of drugs which equates to approximately 35-hundred uses.

The lone occupant of the vehicle, 27 year old Darian Smith of Edmonton was in Lloydminster court Monday facing a variety of drug charges.
