Saskatoon-based Nutrien has announced an agreement to purchase `100 per cent of the equity in Agrosema Commercial Agricola Limited. The company is an ag retailer in the southern Brazil crop input market. Their annual sales are about $60 million U-S across 12 farm centres with about 200 employees. Nutrien president and CEO Chuck Magro says, “We expect to continue to expand our operations in brazil in the coming years.” Closing of the transaction is subject to the approval by the Administrative Council for Economic Defence and the Satisfaction of other customary closing conditions.Nutrien is the world’s largest provider of crop inputs and services, including potash, nitrogen and phosphate products.
