The organization, “Co-op Members for Fairness,” is urging Saskatoon Co-op to intervene in the lockout of workers at the Co-op Refinery in Regina. The group, known as C-M-4-F, has sent a letter to the Saskatoon Co-op Board of Directors expressing support for the workers and petitioning the board to exert its influence to force refinery management back to the bargaining table. The group calls the lock-out of Unifor workers, part of an alarming pattern of contentious labour relations within the Co-op system. They point to the Moose Jaw strike in the fall of 2018, the strike at Saskatoon Co-op stores that lasted over five months and now the refinery. C-M-4-F is demanding a response from the Saskatoon Association Board of Directors within 10 days.
