The Provincial Auditor discovered red flags regarding SHA contracts that were signed with vendors who paid public staff to travel. The Saskatchewan NDP want more answers regarding vendor-sponsored travel from the Saskatchewan Health Authority over the span of two years.
Among 7 random cases chosen out of 30, the auditor found employees either didn’t receive approval before travelling, they didn’t state the reason for travel or contracts were signed with vendors after they sponsored the trip. NDP Leader Ryan Meili says there are likely more cases showing the same patterns.
Meili sent a letter to health minister Jim Reiter on Wednesday morning requesting for a review of these contracts and a public update of what the SHA is doing to address this issue. (CKRM)
