Saskatchewan is not the only province dealing with bad weather. The temperatures may be warmer in British Columbia, but that province has seen a lot of snow. Environment Canada says the snowfall warnings have ended over southern Vancouver Island and Metro Vancouver, but there is cold and unstable air behind the system, meaning there could be more snow over the South Coast. Transit buses are delayed from getting stuck in the snow, and there is actually a picture on Twitter of transit users trying to help push a bus.
Because the area doesn’t get many snow days, the municipalities doesn’t have the equipment we have on the prairies. The B.C. transportation ministry has warned drivers that some bridges and highways have closed as a safety precaution. On social media, the weather conditions in the area are being called “snowmageddon 2020”.
