Lesson learned!
After a “disappointing” effort, in the words of head coach Mitch Love in losing 4-1 last Saturday to Prince George, the Saskatoon Blades made sure they were ready and took the Swift Current Broncos seriously…skating to a 5-0 victory Friday. The loss to the Western Conference cellar-dwelling Cougars made for a tough week for the Bridge City Bunch before they faced Speedy Creek…the last place team in the entire W-H-L. Koen MacInnes only had to make 14 saves for his second shutout of the season while Tristen Robins (pictured) paced the offence with two goals and an assist as the Blue and Gold improved to 21-18-3 for the season in front of 3,254 fans at SaskTel Centre. Martin Fasko-Rudas, Colton Dach and Chase Wouters also tallied for the Blades, who out-shot the Broncos 39-14. Actually, the lesson hasn’t been fully learned by Saskatoon. They visit Swift Current Saturday in the back-end of a home-and-home series. The broadcast on 98-COOL begins at 6 o’clock with the Sardinia Family Restaurant pre-game show and the play-by-play at 7. Following is the official game summary from the W-H-L…
