Sam Effah’s (pictured) road to competing on behalf of Canada at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo will not go through the indoor track at the Saskatoon Field House.
Organizers for the annual Knights of Columbus, Saskatchewan Indoor Games informed www.cjwwradio.com Monday morning that Effah suffered a leg injury over the weekend and will not be able to compete this coming weekend. The Calgary product, now Toronto resident, is a two-time national champion in the 100 metres and has competed in three World Track and Field Championships for Canada. If you watch The Amazing Race Canada, you’ll recognize and remember Effah from having been a part of last season’s show. K of C organizers are hopeful that Effah will still come to Saskatoon this week to be part of the school visits by invitational athletes coming to this year’s event. The Knights of Columbus, Saskatchewan Indoor Games run Thursday through Saturday.
