Saskatchewan is getting an “A” grade from the Canadian Federation of Independent Business in its Red Tape Report Card. In fact, for the first time in the ten years the CFIB has been grading how much provinces force business to deal with red tape, most governments in Canada are receiving either an A or a B. Ours is the second consecutive A grade. Marilyn Braun-Pollon is the vice-president Western Canada and Agri-business for the CFIB. She says they are pleased the province continues to make red tape reduction a top priority. Saskatchewan has forecast over $450 million in cumulative, red tape savings over the next 10 years.
For the eighth year in a row, the Government of Saskatchewan is a finalist for CFIB’s Golden Scissors Award. Jeremy Harrison, Minister of Trade and Export Development has been nominated for introducing a web portal that allows business owners to fast track their red tape concerns. Winners for the Golden Scissors Award will be announced on Thursday.
