The CBSA Criminal Investigations Section has charged a 34-year-old man for his alleged involvement in a Saskatchewan immigration scheme that sold falsified job offer letters. Gurpreet Singh is set to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Thursday.
The Canada Border Services Agency believes that Singh impersonated registered charities. The offences allegedly occurred between June 1st, 2016 and November 2nd, 2018.
The CBSA began its investigation in September 2018 after it says a fraudulent job offer letter was identified when it was presented at Port of Entry. In total the CBSA says it uncovered 34 immigration applications that were linked to fraudulent job offer letters.
