It began as a report of a rural Break and Enter, but it ended in a kilometers long chase and stand-off, with Conservation Officers, Police Dog Services, RCMP Officers, the Protection and Response Team and an Emergency Response Team brought into the mix. Around seven o’clock Sunder morning, Prince Albert RCMP were called to the B and E. They placed a female in custody but the male fled on foot, believed to be armed with a long barrel rifle. With reinforcements brought in, he was tracked for five kilometers to a vacant rural property north of Prince Albert. Verbal attempts to talk the man out failed and that’s when the ERT brought in. After further negotiation, the suspect surrendered and was arrested.
