A trial has been ordered in the Greg Fertuck case.
The 66-year-old man is accused of first degree murder and an indignity to human remains in the disappearance of his estranged wife.
51-year-old Sheree Fertuck was last seen leaving her family’s farm east of Keneston in December of 2015. Her keys, coat and cellphone were still inside the semi-truck she had driven to the local gravel pit.
After an extensive and detailed investigation ending a year later, police determined she was the victim of a homicide.
Fertuck was arrested without incident on the outskirts of Saskatoon in June of 2019.
A Saskatoon Provincial Court judge has determined there is enough evidence to warrant a trial following a Preliminary Hearing that began on June 14th.
The trial is slated for Saskatoon Court of Queen’s Bench.
